It’s summer, so let’s do some thing we haven’t done in awhile a “Dream Garage” challenge. For the summer theme this one is an all Drop top, True topless speedsters are allowed as well.
Let’s limit this one to 5 cars, no budget. I’m going to stick to cars currently for sale, but you don’t have to.
First: this Z3 M Convertible, in Evergreen a unique color that I’m in love with.
Second: a 356, really digging this cream, on red color scheme.
Third: a Sazuka Blue S2000
Four: this Gorgeous Yellow DS Cabriolet. I normally don’t like these early ones wi5h the goofy lights, but the color scheme here won me over.
Fifth: this 1940 Mercury in green and white. I dig it.

DD: an S-class seems like a good way to spend my commute
I need a way to do “truck stuff” thankfully Kaiser had the answer.
Weekend cruiser: 1958 Imperial
Have to add a British roadster
Finally a track day toy
Thankfully you didn’t set a budget.

How many miles are on that AP2? Price seems really high unless it’s under 50k no matter how clean it is.

This isn’t a solid list, I thought about having a modern comfortable cruiser and looked for a 6 series. In the process I found that Z3 M. I’m easily distracted by pretty colors.
I did forget a truck too. Oh well. With the top down the back seat of the Merc can haul stuff. Lol

58k.
It’s a lot of money, but how many Sazuka Blue S2000s are there in Minnesota? Not many

On the DD I was mainly trying to decide which was the roomiest of the current options without going to Bentley or Rolls.
My hardest decision was choosing the cruiser. I was really torn on which year Imperial. I also considered a 1959 Buick ax well.
I also considered substituting a Crosley Super Sport for the Triumph but went the classic British route there.

A 59 Buick was on my list as well, but then I found that Merc. Couldn’t turn that down

Seems like an OK asking price for the miles. Are the blue ones actually rare? I feel like 1/3 of the ones I see are that blue and it was kind of the default color for the S2K.

But all fixed up. New Roof. Paint that matches all the way around. New Engine, maybe with some more power. I’d reserve the right to swap it out for an Elise at some point in the future.
First and the last.
If you want to travel long distances.
For when I’m really sure it’s not going to rain.
Edit:
It’s only got three wheels so doesn’t count as a full extra car.

A dream garage that isn’t almost entirely convertibles is incomprehensible to me.
I am looking for one fixed-roof vehicle next because practicality does occasionally r ear its head, but I’d hardly be heartbroken if I don’t find one.

Completely understand, that color combo is amazing on the Mercury.

The green on that targa is something special

3. 1993-96 Jaguar XJS V12 convertible
4. 2003-05 Alfa Romeo Spider V6
5. 2002-12 Daihatsu Copen

I’m here to strongly endorse your choice of a ‘58 Imperial. The ‘66 almost made my list.

A ‘59 Electra 225 would be in my top 10, without a doubt.

I initially thought of a classic Caddy convertible but decided I wanted something a little more out there. A 1959 Desoto was also on the shortlist.

It’s actually not as rare as I thought.
Of the apx. 70,000 S2000s built 6100 are Sazuka Blue, with the blue interior, and there are two other blues that were available. Here’s the full break down.

The Forward Look DeSotos are a great place to go, too. I considered a ‘55 or ‘56 for my list.
Glad you went “out there” on the Imperial.

Ah I’m probably lumping all the blues together. I still feel like I’ve seen a ton of them with the blue interior but maybe it’s my imagination. Probably a NP but with so many S2000s under $15k now I don’t think I would personally spring for it. Of course if cost is no object in our dream garage I’m going for Rio Yellow Pearl :)
